THE READING EXPERIENCE
A native reading window for the Markdown already on your Mac. Keep the files, rendered page, and heading outline together, then set the page for your eyes.
ONE WINDOW. THREE PARTS.
The file tree gives the document its context. The outline gives the current page its structure. Choose an example document below. These are examples, not your files.
A project, at a glance.
A local README, its supporting documents, and a clear path between them.
Project overview
This sample project keeps its README, architecture notes, and release notes in one folder. Follow a relative link to read the next document.
Open a file or a folder where it already lives. Browse related Markdown in the file tree.
Read the structure of the source: paragraphs, headings, code, tables, images, and diagrams.
Find a section in the current document. Hide the outline or sidebar when you want more reading space.
THE DETAILS BELONG ON THE PAGE
Syntax highlighting, Mermaid, and KaTeX ship inside Aero Markdown. Rendering the document does not fetch those libraries from a network.
Headings, lists, tasks, GitHub alerts, and footnotes stay with the text they explain.
Tables fit the reading column. Fenced code blocks use local syntax highlighting.
Read local images, Mermaid diagrams, and math in the document, rather than moving the explanation into another service.
YAML front matter is hidden. Its title becomes the page title only when the document has no H1.
A PAGE SET FOR YOUR EYES
Choose Serif, Sans, or Mono. Adjust size, column width, line spacing, and zoom. Use system, light, or dark appearance.

The source stays Markdown.
FROM A PASSAGE TO A LOCAL FILE
Search the page or folder. Copy rendered text or a relative link to the current heading. Print the page, export it as PDF, or save local HTML. Aero Markdown includes a Finder Quick Look extension that previews Markdown on the Mac.
Opening and rendering do not rewrite your source. Optional editing is available for the open document; Save writes that file. A source-side preview appears while editing.
